The wise project manager does not spend all his time talking about problems and issues and rushing about trying to fix things. He only speaks when it is necessary and demonstrates what needs to be done by being rather than by doing.

The Way
The poor project manager tries to impress the team and the project stakeholders by talking about what he is doing and boasting of his ability, but it carries little weight. Being dramatic or egocentric neither does any good nor looks good. When they try and force things to happen, those things will go wrong.

When we do the right things by following the Way, we will be rewarded and the right things will happen to us. Thus the wise project manager trusts his team and in turn the team trust him. Reflect and be still, this is the Way. I know this for this is the way of the project manager.

The Tao
Lao Tsu tells us:

To talk little is natural.
High winds do not last all morning.
Heavy rain does not last all day.
Why is this? Heaven and earth!
If heaven and earth cannot make things eternal,
How is it possible for man?

He who follows the Tao
Is at one with the Tao.
He who is virtuous
Experiences virtue.
He who looses the way
Feels lost.
When you are at one with the Tao,
The Tao welcomes you.
When you are at one with virtue,
The virtue is always there.
When you are at one with loss,
The loss is experienced willingly.

He who does not trust enough
Will not be trusted.
